Yo Yo’s Story

Yo Yo is one of the lucky ones. And he knows it. That is why he is using the power and opportunities that he has been given to help others.

It was only when Master Fu of the Shao Shao Temple was out collecting wood one day that he discovered a baby in the bushes. Baby Yo Yo had been left in the mountains, an orphan, but luckily, when Master Fu picked him up and took him back to the Temple, he gave Yo Yo a brighter future. Not a natural at Kung Fu, Yo Yo did not learn as quickly as the other students; but, while his Kung Fu talents were not the best, Yo Yo spent his time doing something more valuable. Yo Yo, a clumsy, naïve and playful boy, likes to do things for other people.

In the same way that Master Fu helped Yo Yo to learn and grow, Yo Yo is on a mission to help other people, like himself, for whom it has not always been easy. The extent of this mission means that he cannot do it alone. And so, the Yo Yo Mission was born.

Yo Yo’s Mission

Whilst on his mission Yo Yo endeavours to bring people together. Yo Yo has worked in partnership with worldwide charitable organisations like Oxfam and continually seeks to find new friends and volunteers who can help him in his mission. There are a number of experts on the ground in various locations that provide direction and support for all aspects of Yo Yo’s mission. By undertaking various fundraising projects, Yo Yo’s primary aim is to make a significant difference to the lives of those in less fortunate circumstances.

We here at the Yo Yo Mission choose to adopt a multi-faceted approach to issues. It is evident that, whilst highly commendable, merely providing toilets in schools is not enough; we must go beyond that to provide training and education about hygiene, sanitation and water use so that the children learn about how and why hygiene is important. It is far more commendable to give someone the tools AND the instruction manual.

The Extent of Yo Yo’s Mission

Put simply, Yo Yo sends his friends, colleagues and volunteers wherever they are needed. There are, undoubtedly, areas that require more attention and resources and so that is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Whether in China or Zambia, poverty is everywhere. Poverty does not discriminate and neither does Yo Yo.

The Not-So-Small Print

As you can see, Yo Yo is not an ambiguous character. His mission is an honest one thus so are his methods. The Yo Yo Mission overheads are covered by Yo Yo himself meaning that any money that you donate goes directly to the very people that Yo Yo seeks to help.

“Someone Cannot Do Everything But Everyone Can Do Something”

The Yo Yo Mission focuses on bringing people together to make a long-term difference in poverty-stricken communities.

Together we can make a difference.
